Welcome to Legacy Havana Silk Dogs. We are dedicated to breeding and preserving dogs that conform to original Cuban type, with soft, silky coats and free from chondrodysplasia and the associated health issues. A Certified Havana Silk Dog™ is a Havanese which has been registered with the Havana Silk Dog Association of America, a voluntary and independent group of breeders and owners dedicated to preserving the original looks, robust health, and temperament of the breed for the future. Proof that the dog is free of hip dysplasia, congenital deafness, patellar luxation, and cataracts is necessary for certification. Soaped pictures are provided and each dog has a hands on conformation evaluation. Additionally DNA must be submitted to guarantee parentage from dogs in the Havana Silk Dog Registry.
Jazz is a Certified Havana Silk Dog Champion. She has had her BAER, CERF, Hips and Patellas tested. A dog can only receive full certification after age two and once all health testing is done and documented.
